Week 3. The qualities of a good information source.

     It is an indisputable fact that each person receives information from media sources, such as newspapers, magazines or news websites. All these sources transfer the description of events differently: by writing articles, critical sketches, and etc. The information resource possessing all qualities conforming to the international standards can deserve readership popularity. That is why a good newspaper or news websites should possess a great quality of the press and splendid informing skills.

     At first, a newspaper is appreciated on those topics which covers. Information stream has to keep up to date. It is very essential for article subjects to be actual for the reading public. If there are any political or revolutionary changes in the country, a newspaper, magazines and news TV programs must devote the issues to these events. It is unacceptable when the newspaper writes only on thoughtless or entertaining subjects, for example, about a parrot, that learned to go water skiing. Also one of the essential qualities of a news resource is the speed of is information submission. People are eager to be the first who will learn about everything and be aware of the latest events. So news have to be "fresh and hot". This is an indispensable condition for any source of mass media.

     The second most important part of any good source of the media is freedom of speech, exactly its independence from any political and bureaucratic encroachments. Freedom of speech is usually regarded as one of the foundations of democracy. It is essential that the content of newspapers, for example, is decided by the newspaper editors and not by politicians, police or businessmen. If politicians were allowed to determine what should or should not be printed, they would be able to suppress any information which did not put them in a good light. Corruption would increase and there would be no way of exposing politicians ' wrongdoings. Therefore it is extremely important for all media newspapers, magazines, news websites for to transfer information independent of any influence from the highest ranks of the state. Only by this way it is possible to achieve justice and honesty.

      Thirdly, a good newspaper has to reflect established facts scrupulously which correspond to the truth and do not distort the main sense of the occurred events. Each fact which is broadcast on airtime in news telecasts has to be subjected to censorship. The journalists creating the reports are obliged to show keenness and attentiveness in relation to the main facts, dates, the occurring events and people. otherwise the journalist should answer for not attentiveness or an intended muddling of the facts. Any publishing house respecting itself won't afford such gross blunders, so long as the whole newspaper, magazine or website stuff will suffer from the defamation issuing or even the journalist's mistake.

     So, the mass media really strongly influences many aspects of our life, therefore it has to provide us with exact and accurate information. The main advantages of printing editions or news programs are reliability, honesty of the word and relevance to modern time. Only under these circumstances mass media tools deserve the right to be called qualitative.

Week 3. Satisfaction of a job.

At all times there has been a permanent question for people who only start thinking about job " Is it more important to have a job you enjoy doing than a job which pays well?" Once I heard a very wise maxim: " A man is always intended for some activity. If he guesses the mission, the success will always accompany him. But the further a person departs from the "true way", the worse he develops. And eventually there will be an absolute indifference passing into a depression because of a dissatisfaction with everyday work.

Working in pleasure has some factors which are positively influencing a person. Firstly, satisfaction with a job impacts a person to make more efforts, and to move ahead on a career ladder and promote. There is a well-known fact that people are more interested in what they love and appreciate. Money, even their huge quantity, will bring only material well-being, but not a creative desire. Developing in the profession day by day, people can achieve unprecedented success, with possible salary increase that is important part of our life. Without initiative people will never be able to reach something certain and worthwhile.

Secondly, favorite work relieves of a depression. After a difficult unlucky day at tiresome,boring and unloved work, a person usually breaks his bad mood on relatives, thus dumping the bad emotions which were collected during a day. But if a job brings aesthetic pleasure and satisfaction of what you are doing, a person with pleasure will devote it the time and forces. Being engaged with the inspiring activity, a man does not give himself the chance to become despondent, even if a salary is much more lower that is expected.

But in opposing to it there is a fact that people won't live without money, therefore highly paid work can help with the organization of vital life, payments of utilities and purchase of numerous goods.Life is too difficult phenomenon, so people could not rely only on call of heart and interests. It is necessary to reflect on that how to support yourself, the family constantly. Therefore it is a complex task to judge about the criterion of choosing a job. There is nothing awful in that people often prefer highly paid work to favorite one. Modern life dictates its terms.

In effect, having estimated all factors, I consider it is better to choose a job which is interesting for you because it is more important  to make efforts for promotion than to work at unloved work for the sake of a lot of money. The rightest decision is to find a place of employment, which will satisfy both financial and mental wishes.

Week 2. Mankind breakthrough

It is an incredible fact that the most remarkable scientific and technological achievements have been invented for the last fifty years. Our world does not stand at the same place and humanity always tries to create something new and improve our life. The most splendid innovations in the sphere of technology were inventions of artificial mind: computers, robots and mobile phones. But there is a noticeable breakthrough, facilitating our living significantly. Obviously, it is the Internet.

The Internet has come into personal communication of the world population world. Social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter Skype and Viber have joined people around the world. Mankind has got an access to infinite contact through e-mail messages, video-calls, conference chats and voice records. There are no inconveniences and difficulties to talk to any person from different parts of the world, whether it be Australia, Brazil, Canada or Japan. Any human can find his/her friends, relatives, acquaintances in order to restore relationships, meet future partner or even enter into business relations. People abilities are not limited.

Another reason of the Internet's benefit is accessible and momentary information. The time, people have to search learning material in libraries, has been finishing. Almost all books, manuals, dictionaries, encyclopedias and etc. are able to be read in the space of the Internet. World Wide Web includes millions of sites of any themes. They are sport, fashion, politics, cookery, environment, history and many others. Few steps should be done to learn more about everything: inputting the question and clicking the "Search" button. Then you are welcome to visit uncountable blogs, articles, watch documental or artistic films, broadcasts. Access to the Internet information is the economy of money and time.

Thirdly, the Internet is being seen as a considerable way for business activities and deals. Nowadays, there is a plethora of the Internet-shops, companies and firms that are based on virtual platform and act online. Advantages of such type of business for dealers consist in the lack of need of personnel hiring, and sometimes, in the absence of warehouse's need. A person can buy and order anything, having paid electronic money without leaving home. The Internet business is rather inexpensive as businessmen are able not to pay salary, so they invest money in advertising of the shop-site or purchase goods. All is on sale in the WWW: from footwear to real estate. Moreover, the Internet provides thousands of people with workplaces. In companies, like GOOGLE, people earn money, creating ideas, inventing interesting and entertaining games and programs, social activities and networks. The Internet is a bounding link between the seller and the buyer.

And eventually, the Internet is a way to take a break, relax and have a rest after intellectual or physical work. It is always possible to play online games, watch a movie or favorite animated film, download music and pictures, pass online-tests or chat with friends in the network.

Anyway, the Internet is a universal and significant invention of mankind which changed our life forever, made it simpler, brighter, more exciting and interesting. The World Wide Web allowed us to be close, staying at distance of thousand kilometers far from each other, economize time and money. That is all importance of this technological breakthrough.

Week 2. Dying of books

Some suggest that reading books is dying out because of the increasing popularity of the Internet among young people. Do you agree or not? How may this impact the future of society?

It is an indisputable and worldwide fact that printed books lose their popularity of Earth's population day by day. More and more often people devote their free time to the Internet, social networks and other computer activities. Books cease to play a former cultural and educational role in human life. Plunging into virtual life, people forget that leisure-time might be spent with a great number of advantages of reading a cognitive book. Therefore, I firmly consider that reading books is dying out because of the increasing popularity of the Internet.

World Wide Net's influence is the most powerful phenomenon which impacts human race not to read and can lead to several irreversible negative consequences. Firstly, not reading population is accepted as degrading population. A person, who spends more time brushing teeth than reading books, stops thinking and speaking clearly. He can't formulate thoughts correctly and accurately. It takes him a lot of time to write a composition or an essay, to answer a difficult question or to participate in discussion. His speech becomes incoherent, inconsistent, ugly and uncivilized. Thanks to reading books, both reflections and the speech are improved, but the obsession of the Internet kills these skills as in the virtual world people use reductions and even unacceptable words.

Secondly, the rejection of reading books for the Internet can lead to the absence of education of future generations, the problems of forming their own views and opinions and lack of foundations of moral values and principles. Teenage generation which only starts living perceives the world from the point of view of authorities. For them authorities are their parents. It is no wonder, a teenager won't be keen on books if his parents spend leisure-time searching World Wide Net or social networks. A person will lose book's interest absolutely, though they are teachers of each person who loves literature. There is a curious fact, which is based on scientific researches , that people which are not reading books, can't define for themselves what are evil or good. They do not study on ancestors's life experience through books, so have no idea of destinies, life difficulties of people and ways of their overcoming. As a result of Internet obsession people will not know history of the world or even of the mother country. The uneducated generation is a clay from which it is possible to mold everything someone wants, it is an army which might be inspired by anything, as such people cannot rely on their knowledge and to create own living position.

For all that, the problem of the increasing Internet popularity is serious enough to reflect on that how to prevent extinction of books. If young generation will continue to devote all spare time sitting in social networks, not reading books, our population will be like slaves that are inspired easily. There will not be the end of the printed book, if even one man saves his love to literature.

Week 2. Learning foreign languages

Some people think that one should learn a foreign language mainly to build a good professional career; others believe that it is much more needed for general educational and social development. What is your opinion? What do you think is the main reason for learning a foreign language?

Nowadays, learning foreign languages becomes more and more popularly and benefitely. It is very important to understand and have communication with people in fastly-developing world. According to the statistics, more than a half of Earth's population speaks at least one foreign language. Studying foreign languages is regarded as the time’s require and development of social communication and educational improvement.

General educational and social development is accepted as one of the most essential reason for learning languages. Firstly, on condition of knowledge of the world's languages people are able to understand foreign culture, customs and, what is more important, way of thinking. It is easier for a foreigner who masters any country's language to accustom among local population and to get used living abroad. Mastering language will give a person hand of help in cases of meeting with a native speaker, watching movie or reading books in original work. Secondly, knowledge gives the ability of travelling without language difficulties. There will not be such a problem like impossibility to ask someone about your location or a trouble with registration in a hotel.

Another significant advantage of learning foreign language for self-development is improvement of memory and brain activity. Numerous researches confirmed that people, speaking one or several foreign languages, perceive and reproduce information quicker and more precisely than those who have never been engaged in comprehension of linguistic elements. During the studying intellectual tension reaches the highest point. Thereby the brain tries to remember and hold information for a long time.

For all that, I strongly reckon that the main reason for learning foreign language is human's intellectual development and self- improvement, so long as there are some advantages, like brain activation or cultural understanding, although professional intension plays a great role in studying.

Week 1. Reasons for entering AUCA.

There are several essential reasons for entering American University of Central Asia.

Firstly, AUCA replies to any inquiries of a modern student or a person of today living. This university offers students technology supporting learning that links them with students across the world. AUCA is supplied with necessary high technological equipment which allows students to find information quickly. Week 1. Answering a letter

In this post I will answer questions of my new acquaintance and also ask him/her questions about one of my favourite books.

Hello! I am glad to respond to your letter and also to learn about the member of your family.
Answering your first question I will tell: yes. Indeed, I have a younger brother whom I love very much, especially when he sleeps or does his own business without winding me up. In general, of course, I am joking.He is very lovely and I am really happy, that he appeared in my life about 14 years ago. I assure you, it is impossible not to like him. By the way, I am four years older than him, but sometimes it seems like our disparity is 10 years. He is my absolute contrast: he is irresponsible, a little thoughtless, idle, but at the same time sympathetic, kind, generous and improbable optimist. Ironically, it happens so often we think equally though , sometimes I notice that he is several times wiser than me. It is so exciting to watch a little boy becoming a man day in and day out, whom I can count on.

Frankly speaking, I do enjoy spending free time with him, although I do not have it this year. Recently I have been teaching him elementary English. But our studying is not successfully going. He does not admit the benifit of these lessons. But I will not give up. Usually we prefer to hang around and talk to each other about everything, and often our conversations turn into hysterical and infinite laughter over new jokes or situations in our life. Those moments are of the highest priority for me, so long as I am able to be as what I am with him.

It would be nonsense if I wished to be the only child in our family. My younger brother is my support. Also I couldn't be such as I am now without him. My brother is that person who unites me with my family as I have difficult relations with parents. That is why I am thousand times thankful for being his sister.

I just remembered that I had wanted to ask you about the book. You know, I was overflowed by so many different feelings when I stopped reading about Harry. It was like delusion. Were you feeling exactly the same? Many characters with which I fell in love were killed. I was grieved and crushed , but then I understood that the death in fight was the only solution for them. What do you think about it? And at long last, I am glad that I stayed with Harry till the end and I will never regret about it. This book became for me a wise mentor, and Harry Hermione and Ron will remain as my childhood friends. So the lastest question is "what did "Harry Potter" teach you?"
